Job summary

OCL Group Inc. is recruiting for experienced Skilled Labourers to join our Fort McMurray project in Alberta. The role emphasizes safety, reliability and strong work ethic, with emphasis on performing tasks to site standards and assisting trades as needed.

We offer CLAC hourly wages, weekly pay days, and benefits after 300 hours, plus paid training and overtime after 8 hours per day. You must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold required safety tickets.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial construction environments.
• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and hazard awareness.
• Physically fit and capable of demanding manual labour (lifting up to 50lbs, bending, standing).
• Strong teamwork and reliable work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks in line with OCL standards and industry practices.
• Assist skilled trades as required.
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely.
• Perform spotting and flagging duties when required.
• Read and understand site-specific instructions prior to each shift.
• Site cleaning and preparation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area / job site.
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings.
• Perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for experienced, reliable and hard-working Skilled Labourers to join our team at a project in Fort McMurray, AB.

Compensation/Benefits

• CLAC hourly wages


• Payday is every Friday


• Company contributed RRSP & Pension contributions

• 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on regular earnings


• OT at 1.5 after 8 hours per day

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Complete tasks in line with OCL and industry standards, procedures and practices

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Skilled Labourer in industrial construction environments


• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools


• Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and hazard awareness


• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual labour (lifting up to 50lbs, bending, standing and working in various weather conditions)


• Ensure a safe team environment. Strong teamwork skills with a positive and reliable work ethic


• Strong communication skills. Ability to follow and understand instructions given.


• Must have reliable transportation, a valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract


• Must have the following safety tickets: WHMIS 2015, CSTS 2020 (or equivalent), H2S Alive is an asset


• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
