Job summary

OCL Group Inc. is seeking skilled labourers to join our team on a Fort McMurray, AB project. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and hard work, with the crew supporting skilled trades and maintaining a clean, organized site.

Candidates should be physically fit, able to operate basic tools, and committed to working in variable conditions. CLAC wages, weekly pay, plus benefits after 300 hours are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial construction environments.
• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
• Strong awareness of site safety practices and hazard recognition.
• Physically capable of demanding manual labour (lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks in line with OCL standards and practices.
• Assist skilled trades as required.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Spotting and flagging duties as needed.
• Read site-specific instructions prior to each shift.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and job site.
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings.
• Perform tasks in various weather conditions.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for experienced, reliable and hard-working Skilled Labourers to join our team at a project in Fort McMurray, AB.

Compensation/Benefits

• CLAC hourly wages


• Payday is every Friday


• Company contributed RRSP & Pension contributions


• Benefits after 300 hours


• Paid training


• 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on regular earnings


• OT at 1.5 after 8 hours per day

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Complete tasks in line with OCL and industry standards, procedures and practices


• Assist skilled trades as required


• Operate basic hand and power tools safety and effectively


• Perform spotting and flagging duties when required


• Read and understand site-specific instructions prior to each shift


• Site cleaning and preparation


• Maintain a clean and organized work area / job site


• Participate in daily toolbox meetings


• Perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions


• Other duties as assigned

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Skilled Labourer in industrial construction environments


• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools


• Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and hazard awareness


• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual labour (lifting up to 50lbs, bending, standing and working in various weather conditions)


• Ensure a safe team environment. Strong teamwork skills with a positive and reliable work ethic


• Strong communication skills. Ability to follow and understand instructions given.


• Must have reliable transportation, a valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract


• Must have the following safety tickets: WHMIS 2015, CSTS 2020 (or equivalent), H2S Alive is an asset


• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
