Job description

Proform Concrete Services is currently seeking Skilled Construction Laborers. A Skilled Construction Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor for concrete and masonry construction projects. Work scope will include but not limited to foundation preparation, concrete placement & finishing, curing & patching, assisting with anchor bolt and formwork installation and general site servicing. Must be familiar operating a variety of hand and power tools. Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces and concrete forms, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :

JOB DUTIES :

• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in concrete and masonry construction projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces for concrete.
• Assist in setting forms.
• Perform tasks on the labour crew to support everyday operations.
• Provide general clean up and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of work area.
• Conduct groundwork, loading and unloading materials.
• Act as a spotter for equipment operators.
• Assisting Carpenters and Concrete Finishers.
• Work collaboratively with all team members.
• Ensures that work is completed within deadlines.
• Communicate work progress and safety performance to the site supervision.
• Must be flexible with duties to support project requirements.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman, Safety Director or HR Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in concrete and masonry construction work.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Willing to be trained for different roles.

REQUIREMENTS :

• 2-3 years experience in a skilled labour role.
• Experience working with concrete.
• Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
• Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.
• Travel will be required.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
