Job summary

Kawartha Lakes in City of Kawartha Lakes, ON, is seeking a Skills Specific Trainer - Zumba to lead and run assigned classes at the Lindsay Recreation Complex. This part-time role includes days, evenings and weekends, with travel within the city as required.

The ideal candidate has recreation or fitness experience and holds Standard First Aid & CPR, plus strong customer service and Microsoft Office skills. Training will include attending staff meetings and promoting wellness programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in recreation or fitness environment required.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR.
• Strong customer service and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and internet basics.
• Criminal Record Check incl. Vulnerable Sector Search required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct assigned skill specific classes.
• Set up and take down equipment as required to conduct classes.
• Maintain accurate attendance records.
• Complete pertinent forms.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Promote division health and wellness programs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Hours Part Time, Normal Working Hours up to 24 hours per week, includes days, evenings and weekends

Other Current vacancy. Some travel throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes may be necessary in accordance with job requirements.

Job Description:

• Prepare and conduct assigned skill specific classes
• Set up/take down of equipment as required to conduct classes
• Maintain accurate attendance records
• Complete pertinent forms
• Attend staff meetings
• Promote division health and wellness programs
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills/Education Required:

• Previous experience in recreation and/or fitness environment
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR
• Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, the internet and other related software
• Upon a conditional offer of employment, a Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, will be required
