Salary: SKID STEER OPERATOR

GCS is seeking a Skid Steer Operator / Laborer for work in Red Deer and surrounding areas. This position supports HDD drilling work to upgrade fibre service in residential areas of Red Deer and nearby locations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

  • Backfilling and moving materials for HDD drilling (fibre) construction;
  • Performing manual labor such as shoveling and digging as required;
  • Executing field projects according to instructions from the client, project manager, and field supervisor with minimal supervision;
  • Reading locates and drawings;
  • Working with minimal supervision and direction;
  • Executing work in a safety-conscious manner;
  • Completing all site documentation as required.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a combination of skills and attitude, including:

  • At least 3 years of operator experience running a skid steer;
  • Laborer experience;
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting 50 lbs;
  • Strong work ethic;
  • Neat and diligent in equipment maintenance;
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work in a rigorous environment;
  • Ability to work in congested areas within residential neighborhoods.
Required Certifications
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
  • CSTS 2020 certification;
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification.
