Job summary

The YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin is seeking a part-time Site Supervisor who is an Early Childhood Educator or childcare professional for Ministry of Education licensed Before and After School Programs in Sparta, Ontario.

Wage range is CAD 20.00–26.51 per hour, with about 26.5 hours per week. Responsibilities include organizing activities, supervising children, preparing snacks, and maintaining program documentation while adhering to all required acts and policies.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience working with children ages 4 to 12.
• Priority given to applicants with an ECE Diploma, Child and Youth Care, Recreation and Leisure.
• Standard First Aid with Child and Infant CPR - Level C.
• An acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (employment specific).
• Educators are knowledgeable, reflective, resourceful, and rich in experience.
• Creative, strong communicators, confident problem solvers.
• Safe Food Handlers Certification prior to start date.
• On-site parking.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and implementing activities and learning opportunities based on children's interests and needs in Before and After School Programs.
• Ensure supervision and safety of children in the program.
• Prepare and serve snacks safely.
• Create a welcoming and professional environment for diverse children and families.
• Follow Child Care and Early Years Act requirements, program statements, and policies.
• Documentation, food preparation, and parent communication.

We need: An Early Childhood Educator and Care professional

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Having Fun: Organizing and implementing activities, crafts, games, learning based opportunities based on children's interests and needs for children in Before and After School Programs
• Being Safe: Ensuring the supervision and safety of children in program
• Preparing and serving snacks safely
• Creating a welcoming and professional environment for diverse children and families
• Following the Child Care and Early Years Act requirements, YWCA St.Thomas-Elgin program statement, and policies and procedures
• Program preparation including documentation, food preparation, and parent communication.
