Job summary

Merit for Training is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee construction activities on various job sites in Canada. You will provide hands-on supervision and coordinate daily operations to ensure safety, on-schedule delivery and high workmanship. You will work with the Project Manager to align schedules, labour, materials, equipment, and scopes of work, while promoting a strong safety culture. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Supervisor in construction.
• Carpenter's license is required.
• Working at Heights, Fall Arrest, and First Aid certifications are required.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Location: Various job sites Job Type: 1-Year Contract, with possibility of permanent full-time employment at year end Pay: $40-$45 per hour

About the Position

About the Position: We are currently seeking an experienced working Site Supervisor to oversee and coordinate construction activities on our job sites. The successful candidate will provide hands-on supervision and direction to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to a high standard of workmanship.

The Site Supervisor will work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate schedules, labour, materials, equipment, and scopes of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Project Manager.
• Supervise and direct day-to-day construction activities on site.
• Review and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
• Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors required for the project.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on the job site.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience working as a Site Supervisor in the construction industry.
• Carpenter's license.
• Working at Heights certification.
• Fall Arrest certification.
• Valid First Aid certification.
• Sound knowledge of building codes and construction safety regulations.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience and familiarity with ICI and private commercial construction projects.
• Strong leadership and team-management skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Valid Class G driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.

Additional Requirements

• Travel of more than two hours may be required for certain job sites.
• Security clearance checks may be required for some government projects.
