Novacom, a Surrey-based general contractor, is hiring a Site Superintendent to lead ground-up wood-frame base building work in Vancouver starting mid-October 2026. You will work with a PM and Coordinator to manage buyout, draws and change orders while the General Superintendent provides guidance.

You will run mobilization, structure, envelope, schedule, inspections, safety and turnover. Procore, Outbuild and Microsoft 365 are our tools; valid BC driver's license and work rights in Canada

Qualifications

• Experience leading ground-up wood-frame projects from mobilization to occupancy.
• Strong knowledge of rainscreen envelope and BC building codes.
• Proactive communication with PM, clients, and trades.
• Proficiency with Procore for daily logs and change management.

Responsibilities

• Lead site activities from mobilization to occupancy with PM/PM coordinator.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals with City, architect and engineer.

Novacom is a Surrey-based General Contractor delivering commercial and multi-family projects across BC, from complex interiors for national brands and institutional clients through to ground-up base building work. The Role

We're hiring a Site Superintendent to lead ground-up wood-frame base building work, residential or commercial. It is a growing part of what we do, and we're looking for someone who has built from the ground up and wants the systems, the back office and the trade support of an established GC behind them.

The first assignment starts in Vancouver in mid-October 2026, day shift, and runs through to occupancy, with more base building work behind it.

What You'd Run

The site, start to finish, with a Project Manager and Project Coordinator carrying the buyout, the draws and the change order paperwork so that you can run the field. You report to our General Superintendent and work alongside the Project Director who owns the client relationship.

• Mobilization: site setup, hoarding, access, lay-down, servicing coordination and trade kickoffs
• The structure: concrete Level 1 through three storeys of wood frame, sequenced and inspected
• Envelope: the part that decides whether this job goes well. Rainscreen detailing, coordination with the envelope consultant, and holding the trades to it
• The schedule: built with your PM, held with your trades, week by week
• Authorities and consultants: City of Vancouver inspections, architect and engineer site reviews, and the OAC meeting on your site
• Safety: your site, your standard, backed by Procore and a safety team that shows up
• Documentation: daily logs, photos, manpower, field reports and change events in Procore, kept current rather than caught up
• Turnover: deficiencies worked the whole way through, occupancy and warranty handover
• Our technology stack: Procore, Outbuild and Microsoft 365

What We Need to See

• Ground-up wood-frame commercial, residential or multi-family carried yourself, as the lead superintendent, from mobilization through occupancy. What your title said matters less than whether you carried the job
• BC building envelope experience. You know what a rainscreen assembly should look like before the consultant tells you
• Relationships with Lower Mainland residential trades are a bonus, not a requirement. Our PM team runs buyout. On site, what counts is holding a crew to the plan
• Comfortable running inspections and site reviews with the City, the architect and the engineer
• Procore, or the willingness to learn it properly in your first month. We will train you and we will expect you to use it
• Valid driver's license, already living in Greater Vancouver, and legally entitled to work in Canada

What We're Looking For

• You hold a trade to a date. When Thursday's work isn't done Thursday, you are on it that afternoon, not at the next trade meeting
• You tell your PM the truth about the schedule, early. We would rather have a hard conversation in week six than a surprise in week twenty
• You build it so it lasts. On a wood-frame envelope in this climate, the shortcut always comes back, and you already know that
• Closeout isn't a scramble for you. Deficiencies get worked the whole way through rather than left to the end
• You want to set the standard, not inherit one. This is our first build of its kind and how you run it becomes how we run the next one
• Trades are partners, not resources. We hire humble, generous people and it shows on our sites
