Traine Construction and Development (Traine) is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Superintendent to join our organization! As a key member of our team, you will supervise all construction activities on-site, ensuring workmanship and efficiency standards. This position manages on-site personnel and enforces safety and work regulation policies.
This is a site-based position in Kelowna, BC.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead all on-site activities to ensure safe, timely, and efficient project execution
- Manage site information flow: RFIs, ASIs, SSIs, ESIs, MSIs, etc.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to meet project specifications
- Create, monitor, and maintain the construction schedule with the project manager
- Liaise with City Officials and build strong relationships
- Chair weekly trade meetings and assist with site meetings with the development team, project managers, directors, and trade partners
- Create lookahead schedules and monitor trades to maintain productivity
- Review blueprints, shop drawings, and construction documents to identify conflicts early
- Coordinate and supervise trade partners, suppliers, and vendors
- Ensure work aligns with drawings, specifications, and industry standards through regular site walkthroughs
- Manage and mentor field staff, ensuring they have necessary tools and instructions
- Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient job site, enforcing safety policies
- Handle field documentation such as logs, photos, safety inspections, and reports
- Order materials, schedule inspections, and coordinate utilities
- Address project challenges proactively with positive solutions
- Oversee projects from excavation to handover
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience with wood frame multi-family projects (4-6 stories) on concrete parkades, from start to finish
- Gold Seal Certification is a strong asset or in progress
- Red Seal Ticket in Carpentry and First Aid are assets
- Valid Driver’s License without restrictions
- Experience with phased occupancy multi-building projects
- Ability to evaluate and lead trade partner performance
- Proficient in reading plans, specifications, and drawings
- Strong management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented with a safety-first approach
- Proficient with MS Project, Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and Procore
- Knowledge of construction disciplines, safety, scheduling, cost and quality control, and engineering documents
- Professional and personable with stakeholders and team members
- Successful background check required
Working Conditions
- Availability 24/7 may be necessary
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly
- Travel to site and off-site locations required
- Overtime and weekend work may be needed
- Work in a fast-paced environment, outdoors and indoors, in all weather conditions
