We are currently looking to add a Site Security Coordinator to the team in Ottawa.
The Site Security Coordinator supports the organization’s physical and operational security programs by coordinating daily administrative security activities, ensuring compliance with internal/external policies and regulatory requirements. This role acts as a key liaison between Security Operations, Facilities, HR, PSPC, CSP, clients and subcontractors to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets.

Responsibilities
Administrative Security Duty
- Security clearances for all EBC staff
- Provide support to subcontractors under the Private Sector Organization Screening (PSOS)
- Responsible for the Sponsorship process
- Support construction activities and secure storage of Designated or Classified material.
- Coordinates with Site Security Lead and the Guard Force Commander on issues related to site security.
- Develop Standing Operation Procedures (SOP)
- Develop Security Implementation plan (SIP)
- Assist Site Security Lead on daily review, including access control log, incident log, and training log
- Preparation of any documents related to the security of the site
- Provide support on time, to the management of security clearance requests from subcontractors’ personnel to support the project schedule
- Prioritize requests to the admin support CSO based on the project timeline
- Support companies with the Security Requirements Checklist (SRCL) and Request for Visit (RFV)
- Provide advice to contractors on issues related to Document Safeguarding Capabilities (DSC), security clearances, SRCL and RFV.
Implementing Security
- Participate in safety meetings
- Act as an ACSO for EBC Security
- Assist to conduct on-site safety exercises
- Enforce site security requirements, especially with respect to the protection and transportation of classified documents and classified conversations
- Assist to develop site and building safety procedures
- Conduct safety briefings as required
- Identifies identified security gaps and ensures that they are corrected
Security Guard Services in collaboration with consultants
- Maintain and implement the security plan to encompass all aspects of security forces during construction and post-construction
- Develops and finalizes guard post orders
- Assist in implementing security orders for customers
Requirements
- 5+ years in a Security role, preferably in construction, defense, or federal contracting
- Strong knowledge of Canadian federal security protocols, including CSP, CGP, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Information Security Policy (ISP), and Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSE) cybersecurity programs
- Proven leadership in managing security for infrastructure or civil construction projects
- Skilled in cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders including Legal, HR, IT, and Operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong documentation and audit readiness.
- Knowledge of electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms).
- Proficiency in incident management and crisis management protocols.
- Ability to read and apply complex corporate policies.
- Excellent judgment in emergency situations.
- Clear communication and diplomacy when interacting with multiple stakeholders.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in physical security, site management, or a similar role.
- Experience working with a security provider or in a corporate/industrial environment.
- Bilingual in French and English an asset (spoken and written).
- Must be able to work onsite in Ottawa.
- Valid Government of Canada security clearance or eligibility to obtain one, in accordance with project security requirements.
Certifications (Preferred)
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
- COMSEC – COM102C – COMSEC Account Management/COM103C – COMSEC Account Management for private sector companies
- Emergency Preparedness or Security Training

In accordance with applicable pay transparency legislation, EBC Inc. has included the expected salary range for this role, which is $70,000-$115,000. Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localization, and internal equity. Base salary is one component of EBC's comprehensive total rewards offering, which may include performance-based incentives, extended health and wellness benefits, retirement savings programs, and career development opportunities.
