Job summary

Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting Project Buyer opportunity at the Red Chris Mine in northern British Columbia. FIFO rotation of 14 on/off (12-hour days) applies.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Buyer handles end-to-end procurement for site projects to support timely delivery and cost control. You will source materials, issue RFQs/RFPs, assess supplier bids, negotiate with suppliers, and maintain ERP procurement data while ensuring safety, compliance and

Qualifications

• Experience as a site-based buyer with operations teams.
• Familiar with mining equipment, materials and services.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team.
• Valid Canadian driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Source and order materials, equipment, and services for site projects.
• Issue RFQs and RFPS to the prospective suppliers.
• Work with project managers, mining engineers and maintenance to ensure prompt ordering.
• Evaluate supplier bids on cost, quality, lead time and compliance.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Resolve material delivery issues, discrepancies and non-conformances.
• Track and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery to site.
• Maintain procurement data in ERP and generate project reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain traceability and documentation for audits.
