Primary Duties
Scope of Job:

The Operations Supervisor will report directly to the Operations Manager and support them in overseeing operational maintenance work, utilizing extensive technical skills for troubleshooting and repairs. They will perform daily tasks, assist with scheduling, resource allocation, and ensure preventive and corrective actions are taken to optimize technology performance.

Required Training:

All Renewable Energy Technicians will attend a mandatory five-week training and certification course at the start of employment in Albert Lea, MN. Travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided. Duration may vary based on experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership (50%): Oversee maintenance and repair work, ensure safety and schedule adherence, communicate effectively with technicians, assist with quality control, troubleshoot complex issues, and perform switchings and inspections at substations.
  • Operational Management Support (40%): Assist with resource planning, inventory management, safety compliance, report creation, and performance improvement initiatives. Act as backup to the Operations Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned (10%)
Supervision of Others:

Provide technical oversight of frontline staff and support external contractors.

Working Conditions:

Approximately 20% office work, 80% field work including troubleshooting, repairs, safety audits, and contractor oversight.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Senior Technician or 3 years in a Lead Technician role.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Valid driver’s license and organizational eligibility to operate vehicles.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of site performance and KPIs.
  • Knowledge of EDFR policies and technical drawings.
  • Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, climb, handle objects, and reach.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Work at heights and in mechanical environments.
  • Operate company vehicles with a valid license.
  • Maintain good work habits and environment.
