Job summary

Stantec is seeking a dedicated Site Inspector to support our construction and inspection team on major civil and infrastructure projects across Ontario. You will verify field work, ensure contract compliance, monitor quality and safety, and keep projects on track.

You will conduct routine on-site inspections, review drawings and documents, and prepare daily inspection reports while coordinating with contractors and clients to resolve issues and ensure timely project progress.

Qualifications

• Experience performing on-site inspections for civil/infrastructure projects.
• Ability to review drawings, specifications and contract documents for compliance.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills including daily inspection reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine on-site inspections to verify alignment with contract documents and safety standards.
• Review pre-construction conditions and coordinate with contractors to document field work and deviations.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain photographic/diary records; escalate issues as required.
• Monitor contractor performance including materials, workmanship, permits, testing, and hold-points; raise non-conformance reports when necessary.
• Liaise with contractors, engineers, subcontractors and clients to resolve issues and ensure cross-disciplinary compliance.
• Participate in site meetings and pre-inspections; support close-out by compiling final documentation and punch-lists.
• Utilize mobile tools and reporting software (e.g., Excel, Outlook) to document inspection activities.

• Prepare daily inspection reports, maintain photographic and diary records, and escale issues as required.
• Monitor contractor performance including materials, workmanship, permits, testing, and hold-points; raise non-conformance reports when necessary.
• Liaise with contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure timely resolution of issues and compliance across disciplines.
• Participate in site meetings, attend pre-inspections and walk-throughs, and support project close-out efforts by compiling final inspection records and punch-lists.
• Use mobile tools and reporting software (e.g., Excel, Outlook) to document and track inspection activities.
