Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Act as the primary site contact for contractors and municipal inspection staff
Ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, standards, and best practices
Perform site inspections; measure quantities; document progress; and provide field direction as required
Coordinate with the Manager of Construction Services, CA Project Manager, and other DSEL team members to resolve site issues
Coordinate with external site professionals, including geotechnical, survey (OLS), environmental, structural, fluvial, and other consultants
Monitor and track day-to-day construction progress and project schedules
Organize and lead construction meetings, including preparation of agendas and meeting minutes
Prepare construction cost estimates and quantity take-offs
Prepare and administer contract documentation, including Schedules of Items, Change Order Requests (CCNs), Change Orders (COs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Site Instructions (SIs)
Maintain accurate and complete project files, records, and inspection documentation
Education
College diploma or university degree specializing in civil engineering or civil construction
Skills and Competencies
Demonstrated experience in civil construction and contract administration
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
AutoCAD experience and interest in using CAD for construction-related tasks
Strong English written and verbal communication skills
