Job summary

Kibbi is seeking a forestry professional for field-based work across rural locations on Vancouver Island. The role focuses on sustainable forest management, inventory surveys, and data-driven planning to support forest operations.

You will conduct field measurements, GIS mapping, and supervision of silvicultural activities, with regular travel and collaboration with land managers and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in forestry or closely related field.
  • Experience in forest inventory and silvicultural planning.
  • Ability to conduct field surveys and GIS mapping.
  • Willingness to travel and work in rural or remote locations.

Responsibilities

  • Assess current area status for sustainable forest management.
  • Conduct post-cut assessments to match forecast with after-harvest conditions.
  • Perform forest inventory cruises, surveys, and field measurements.
  • Inspect to ensure development of quality forest crops.
  • Display spatial data using GIS.
  • Assist managers in planning access routes and forest roads.
  • Monitor silvicultural practice effectiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES
