Responsibilities:

As a Silviculture Forester, you will work with a team of forest analysts, planners, and forest operations specialists to support the forest land management needs of our Indigenous, government, and industry clients. You must be a strong communicator while working closely with internal staff, clients, agencies, and other resource professionals. Working individually and in a team environment is essential while learning and leading the shifting forest policy framework.

Qualifications:

• A positive team player with solid communication skills, leadership qualities, and a safety-conscious attitude.
• Post-secondary education with a natural resource management focus.
• Registered RFT with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) is mandatory. RPF designation ideal.
• Minimum five years of related experience in leading silviculture survey shifts.
• Experience leading and facilitating diverse groups.
• Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail, work accuracy, and quality.
• An understanding of advanced forestry geomatics datasets and forest landscape analysis processes.
• Background and/or experience in coastal silviculture regulations and leading silviculture survey shifts in remote areas on the coast.
• Accredited Silviculture Surveyor certificate considered an asset.
• Valid BC driver’s license and safe driving record.
