Job summary

Alstom in Toronto, ON is seeking a full‑time System Engineer to contribute to the GO Expansion project. You will design and formalize system specifications, ensure traceability across subsystems, and work with rolling stock, electrification, civil and operations teams to deliver a cohesive solution.

Qualifications include a Bachelors in Engineering, 5+ years in systems engineering or related design, signaling domain experience, and familiarity with AREMA/CENELEC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering or equivalent design experience.
  • Experience or understanding of signaling projects as a sub-system or system engineer.
  • Knowledge of Wayside Signaling, Computer‑Based Interlocking (CBI) solutions, and Wayside/Trackside environments.
  • A Professional Engineer certification (or in progress).
  • Familiarity with AREMA and CENELEC standards.
  • Experience with DOORs and ClearQuest.

Responsibilities

  • Design system solutions and formalize system specifications with traceability.
  • Develop interface specifications for external and internal subsystems.
  • Coordinate with program team members to implement and revise designs.
  • Support technical discussions with the customer and consortium teams.
  • Apply Alstom standard processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
