Job summary

Sorenson Communications, LLC is expanding its interpreter team in Halifax. We offer part-time positions with flexible scheduling across shifts, and opportunities for advancement within VRS service delivery.

Interested candidates should have ASL proficiency, a strong command of English, and a background in customer service or interpretation. Candidates may be asked to complete a skills assessment and must meet local licensure/certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass our required skills assessment.
• Interpreter certification as required by local regulations.
• 3 years’ interpreting experience recommended.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English.
• Comply with licensure/certification requirements.
• Adhere to Sorenson standards, FCC regulations and RID Code of Conduct.
• Maintain flexible work schedule to meet VRS industry needs.
• Learn and implement new technologies quickly.
• Collaborate effectively in a team environment.
