Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is looking for a dedicated driver in Dawson Creek for transporting customer waste from various sites. Responsibilities include driving to sites, securing and emptying bins, and ensuring compliance with all safety and legal standards.

The ideal candidate must possess a valid Class 1 or Class 3 License with Air Brake endorsement and have 1-2 years of driving experience. Strong communication and decision-making skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing assigned duties on container delivery and hauling of customer waste from industrial, commercial, and institutional roll‑off sites
• Daily route consists of driving to customer sites, secure bin on truck, empty bin at transfer station/landfill, return bin to customer site
• Perform driver check‑ins periodically to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion.
• Ensure that all protocols are followed while dumping loads at municipal recycling/waste facilities
• Required to tarp loads
• Required to be able to lift the Roll‑Off hook and attach it to the bin, requires bending and ability to lift 25‑50 pounds
• Ensure that service is completed in accordance with established policies
• May perform some additional responsibilities as assigned by the Route Supervisor/Site Manager
• Required to follow all applicable Provincial and Federal transportation laws

Requirements

• Must have valid Class 1 or Class 3 License with Air Brake endorsement
• 1‑2 years driving experience in a transportation sector
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent decision‑making skills
