Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Software Engineering intern/co‑op to join our team. You will work closely with software engineers to build and maintain AMD's software applications, gaining hands-on experience on real‑world projects that impact millions of end‑users worldwide.

We will provide training across the full software development lifecycle, help you automate parts of the process with scripts, and teach debugging methodologies to identify root causes.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Canadian university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Knowledge of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
• Experience with C/C++ programming and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Java, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux OS, databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), and Azure cloud.
• Experience with web frameworks (Django, Rails, Spring Boot) and HTML/XML.
• Version control using Git, GitHub, or Perforce; basics of testing and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Work with software engineers to build and maintain applications.
• Receive training across the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Develop scripts to automate parts of the software development workflow.
• Learn debugging methodologies to identify root causes of issues.
• Contribute to technical/functional documents and reports as needed.

JOB DETAILS:

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time 37.5 hrs a week, either in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co‑op/intern term.

Winter Duration:

• 4 Months: January 11, 2027 to April 23, 2027
• 8 Months: January 11, 2027 to August 20, 2027

Summer Duration:

• 4 Months: May 3, 2027 to August 20, 2027
• 8 Months: May 3, 2027 to December 10, 2027

Fall Duration:

• 4 Months: September 13, 2027 to December 10, 2027

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

We areseekinghighlymotivated Software Engineering intern/co-op to join our team at AMD. In this role –

We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build andmaintainour software applications

• We willprovidetraining onthe full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment

• We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process

• We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues

• In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports asneeded

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• You are currently enrolled in a Canada based University into a Bachelors degree program majoring inComputer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, ComputerScienceor related discipline
