Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing is seeking a Baker for the Main Lodge Kitchen in Blue River, BC. The role involves preparing baked goods and desserts in a seasonal, full-time kitchen, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.

You will assist with bread, dough, and breakfast items, participate in dessert production, and contribute to recipe development while maintaining high food quality. A culinary diploma and Food Safe/WHMIS are required, with 2–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• University or College Diploma in a Culinary field preferred.
• Food Safe Certification and WHMIS required.
• Two to three years' experience in a similar position.
• Must be able to bend/kneel, lift moderate weight, and stand for long periods.

Overview:

This position is responsible for preparing and producing baked goods and desserts in the Main Lodge Kitchen. Must work in compliance with all health and safety regulations by ensuring adherence to sanitary and safe food handling guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the creation of bread, dough, and certain breakfast items
• Assisting with dessert buffet items and plated desserts
• Continual research, testing, and development of new recipes
• Produce and maintain consistent standards of food quality
• Work according to safe food handling procedures
• Support the Pastry team, execute recipes consistently
• Communicate all problems and / or ideas to your supervisor
• Perform a variety of other duties as needed
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner within company policies.

Working Conditions:

• This position will spend 100% of the time standing.
• Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat and water, and exposure to hot temperatures in the kitchen environment
• Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion, and up to 35 pounds regularly.
• Manual dexterity is required to use knives and kitchen appliances.

Compensation:

$23.85 per hour
