Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing is seeking a Seasonal Sandwich Maker for Saddle Mountain Restaurant in Blue River, BC. The role involves preparing Heli lunches, working overnight, and contributing to a fast-paced kitchen team in a beautiful mountain environment.

Qualifications

• Food Safe Certification and WHMIS required.

Responsibilities

• Review menu and guest nutritional requirements (allergies, preferences).

Overview:

Responsible for preparing high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. This role involves preparing Heli lunches in Saddle Mountain Restaurant for our guests to enjoy in the mountains. Must be prepared to work as a team member in a dynamic workplace and must follow all safety procedures. This is an overnight shift.

Responsibilities:

• Review the menu and guest nutritional requirements. i.e., allergies, preferences.
• Make sandwiches and private lunches according to the menu and preferences. Send out soups, teas, and lunches for private groups and deluxe groups.
• Prep for the following day.
• Clean walls and tables in work area; clean and sterilize all knives.
• Communicate all problems and / or ideas to your supervisor.
• Ensure food is stored in appropriate containers, labeled, and rotated to ensure high standards of freshness, minimizing waste, and maximizing quality.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working area making sure to follow all Health & Safety regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements :

• Food Safe Certification and WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) required.
• Experience in a similar position considered an asset.
• Must be able to frequently bend and kneel, lift moderate weight, and work on feet for an extended period.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated.
• Be willing to work overnight shifts and weekend shifts.
• Attributes include an energetic personality, punctuality, and good grooming standards.

Working Conditions :

• 10 hour overnight shifts, 4 nights a week on an averaging agreement
• This position will spend 100% of the time standing.
• Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat and water, and exposure to hot temperatures in the kitchen environment
• Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion, and up to 35 pounds regularly.
• Manual dexterity is required to use knives and kitchen appliances.
