Job summary

Markage is seeking a Shopify & WordPress Designer to join our Canadian team in an on-site role based in Calgary, Vancouver, or Toronto. You will design and build polished sites using Shopify and WordPress, focusing on layout, typography, and responsive behaviour.

You will work with designers, developers, marketing and project teams to ensure quality, accessibility and brand consistency. Dex PSP certification is required, and familiarity with front-end basics is a plus.

Qualifications

Experience designing and building Shopify/WordPress sites.
Strong responsive design and visual hierarchy skills.
Familiar with CMS content, themes, and QA checks.
DEX-PSP certification in Arts, Media & Creative Production.

Responsibilities

Design responsive website pages and components from briefs, brand systems, and approved content.
Build and configure pages in Shopify and WordPress using themes, blocks, templates, or approved page builders.
Set up navigation, content structures, product or collection pages, forms, and routine CMS elements.
Apply brand typography, imagery, spacing, hierarchy, and responsive behaviour consistently.
Coordinate with developers when custom code, integrations, or technical changes are required.
Optimize images and content for practical web use and page performance.
Complete cross‑device checks for layout, links, forms, content, and visual consistency.
Prepare client or internal handoff notes and maintain organized site assets and documentation.
