Joelle’sTechnical Resources & Custom Works Inc is seeking an experienced, organized Shop Supervisor to join our team in Timmins, Ontario. This hands-on leadership role coordinates shop operations, fleet, equipment, and assets while ensuring safety, quality, preventive maintenance, and operational readiness across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience in an industrial, welding, fabrication, millwright, mechanical or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of shop operations and industrial equipment.
  • Experience with fleet, equipment, or asset management.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and workmanship standards.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily shop activities and employees.
  • Plan work according to operational priorities and deadlines.
  • Monitor productivity and ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.
  • Provide direction, coaching and support to employees and apprentices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe shop environment.
  • Coordinate closely with Operations Manager regarding manpower, equipment and upcoming jobs.
  • Oversee quality control of work completed in the shop.
  • Inspect completed work before equipment, fabricated items or materials are released for field use or delivery.
  • Ensure work meets JTR standards, drawings, specifications and applicable client requirements.
  • Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective work is completed.
  • Promote consistent workmanship and continuous improvement throughout the shop.
  • Oversee the condition and readiness of JTR’s fleet, tools, equipment and other assets.
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment are inspected, maintained and available for operational requirements.
  • Track reported deficiencies and ensure repairs are properly scheduled and completed.
  • Coordinate servicing and repairs with approved service providers when required.
  • Monitor the proper use and care of company vehicles, tools and equipment.
  • Help maintain accurate records of company assets, inspections, maintenance and repairs.
  • Report damaged, missing or improperly maintained company property to Management.
  • Manage and support JTR’s preventive maintenance program for vehicles, machinery and equipment.
  • Monitor maintenance schedules, service intervals and upcoming inspection requirements.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance is completed before equipment becomes overdue.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Maintain appropriate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective or preventive measures.
  • Work with Operations to ensure equipment required for upcoming projects is inspected and ready before deployment.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, hazard assessments and required safety documentation.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are safe and appropriate for use.
  • Immediately address unsafe conditions, damaged equipment and other hazards.
  • Report incidents, near misses, equipment damage and other concerns as required.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES
ShopOperations & Supervision

QUALIFICATIONS

Theideal candidate will have:

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow up on outstanding items
  • Valid driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

Millwright,welding/fabrication, mechanical, CWB, mining or heavy-industrial experiencewould be considered strong assets.
