Job summary

Brandt Industries Canada Ltd in Saskatoon, SK is seeking a Shop Manager to oversee daily shop operations across fabrication, welding, painting, assembly, and shipping. You will coordinate production schedules, manage staffing and budgets, and drive Lean initiatives to improve cost and on-time delivery.

Collaborating with Engineering, HR, and Supply Chain, you will support product quality and process optimization, maintain clean, safe working conditions, and lead a motivated team toward

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years working in the Steel manufacturing industry.
  • Lean manufacturing training and experience.
  • Understanding of workflow and constraints theories.
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Must be highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to lead by example.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule production and coordinate resources to meet forecasted deliveries for several departments; fabrication, welding, painting, assembly, and shipping.
  • Work with the management team to implement and execute Lean manufacturing initiatives where suitable.
  • Review manufacturing methods and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain product quality measures.
  • To manage and monitor work orders and production costs reports to accurately determine current manufacturing costs.
  • Determine manpower requirements based on budget.
  • Work with HR and payroll.
