Bridge Machine in Port Coquitlam, BC, is seeking a Shop & Finishing Technician to prepare and finish components before shipment. You'll paint, mask, and assist with shipping/receiving, and operate forklifts and overhead cranes as part of a busy shop.
You'll be a versatile, dependable, hands-on team member who values detail and safety, supports machinists and welders, and helps keep the shop organized while working within the Boundary group of companies.
Before a finished component leaves Bridge Machine, there's one final stage that matters just as much as everything that came before it.
The finish.
We're looking for a Shop & Finishing Technician — someone who notices the details, takes pride in how finished work looks, and understands that what leaves our shop represents our entire team.
This is also a role built for someone who enjoys variety and being an important part of the entire shop operation.
You'll paint and prepare finished components. You'll help with shipping and receiving. You'll operate forklifts and overhead cranes. You'll move material, keep things organized, support your teammates, and step in where needed to keep work moving.
We're looking for a versatile, dependable and hands-on team member who takes pride in doing things well.
Bridge Machine specializes in machining, hydraulic cylinder repair, manufacturing and rebuild services for demanding industrial applications.
We're also proud to be part of the Boundary group of companies — a Canadian group of specialized industrial businesses supporting the mining, heavy equipment, manufacturing and resource sectors across Canada and around the world.
Your primary responsibility will be the preparation and final finishing of completed components before they leave our facility.
You'll also provide hands-on support throughout the shop wherever you're needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
Experience matters, but for this position, the person matters just as much.
We're looking for someone who brings:
Training can be provided for some of the technical requirements for the right person.
This is where the fit matters.
You're someone who notices things other people miss.
If a finished part has a run in the paint, an area wasn't properly covered, or something doesn't look right before it gets shipped, you catch it.
You take pride in doing things properly — even when nobody is watching.
You're also someone who sees where help is needed and is willing to step in. You don't need every day to look exactly the same, and you enjoy being part of a team where people work together to get the job done.
For this position, we're looking for someone who demonstrates:
At Bridge Machine, you'll have variety in your day and the opportunity to learn different parts of a manufacturing operation.
You'll:
Being part of Boundary gives Bridge the strength and opportunities of a growing group of specialized industrial businesses while maintaining the hands-on environment and team culture of Bridge Machine.
Success in this role isn't about having the longest list of qualifications.
It's about being someone the team can rely on.
You show up. You work hard. You pay attention. You take care of the details. You ask when you're unsure. You take responsibility for your work.
And when something needs doing, you're willing to step in and help.
If you're a hands-on person who likes variety, takes pride in doing things properly and wants to become a valuable part of a hardworking shop team, we'd like to hear from you.
Bring your work ethic. Bring your attention to detail. Bring your willingness to contribute.
We'll give you the opportunity to learn, contribute and become an important part of Bridge Machine and the Boundary group of companies.
