Why Attendants Take This Job

This is the front door to a Heavy Equipment Technician ticket without leaving Fort McMurray. You start at $30.00 an hour with a living out allowance on top, on a 14 and 14 rotation that gives you two full weeks at home. Attendants who show up, work safe and want it move into an apprenticeship, typically within 12 to 18 months, and the path runs all the way through to Journeyman. These openings exist because the last group of Attendants moved up. That is the track you are stepping onto.

Pay is a gross hourly rate before deductions.

What We Offer
  • $30.00 per hour to start, plus a living out allowance
  • Heavy Equipment Technician apprenticeship opportunities, typically within 12 to 18 months, with progression through to Journeyman
  • Site safety training provided if you do not already have it
  • Required orientations and assessments paid at $18.00 per hour
  • Opportunities for overtime based on operational requirements
  • Life insurance: $100,000 employee / $10,000 spouse / $5,000 per child
  • AD&D insurance with critical illness and cancer coverage
  • Extended health care: drugs, hospital, hearing, orthotics, nursing
  • Paramedical services: chiro, physio, massage, mental health (annual coverage)
  • Vision care: glasses, contacts, laser surgery, and exams
  • Dental care: 80% basic ($2,500), 50% major ($2,500), $2,500 ortho for children
  • Travel insurance: up to $5,000,000 per incident (trips up to 90 days)
  • Ongoing training and career development support
