Job description

We build and refit high-end yachts on Morris Island, NS. This role keeps the shop organized and flowing so our skilled crew can focus on yacht work instead of losing time hunting for tools, moving their own materials, or fighting chaos. No yacht-building experience required – we’re looking for someone who cares about organization and moves efficiently.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain 5S Standards — Keep order across all color‑coded zones, plus the WIP and transportation stations that keep jobs moving:
    • Green — Fiberglass
    • Pink — Shared
    • Yellow — Shared
    • White — Rigging & Welding
    • Orange — Carpentry
    • Blue — Cabinetry & Finishing
  • Material Movement & Logistics — Move materials between projects and keep them flowing where they’re needed.
  • Battery Inventory & Charging — Daily audits, returning strays to their home zones, and keeping chargers plugged in and ready.
  • Tool Restocking — Return tools to their home zones so the crew always finds what they need.
  • Staging & Containment — Stage materials for upcoming jobs and keep the dust‑free room organized.
  • Waste Management & Cleanup — Keep the shop clean, clear, and safe.
  • Gopher Work — Move heavy items and haul materials to and from projects and the yard.
  • Accurate Time Logging — Track your time by project for billing, switching your timesheet as you move between jobs through the day.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Attention to Detail — You notice when something’s out of place and put it right.
  • Follows Systems — You respect a process and keep it running the way it’s designed.
  • Clear on Priorities — Able to take direction from multiple crew leads without losing track of what matters most.
  • Reliable & Punctual — You show up, on time, ready to work.
  • Coachable — No specialized yacht experience needed; we’ll teach you. We just need someone who cares about organization and efficiency.
Working Conditions

Full‑time, year‑round on site

Compensation
  • Above Typical Pay — $18–$20/hr, higher than standard janitorial, because a well‑run shop directly drives crew productivity and revenue.
  • No Daily Chaos — Clear priorities set every morning by the Shop Foreman.
  • A Real Growth Path — Prove yourself and get cross‑trained into basic shop tasks, scaling into more responsibility over time.
  • Year‑Round Work — Steady, stable employment in a sector usually plagued by seasonal shutdowns.
To Apply

Send your resume or reach out for a quick conversation — no yacht-building experience required. If you care about organization and efficiency, we want to hear from you.
