Job summary

Mucci Farms Inc is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to lead day-to-day shipping operations, ensuring safe, accurate and timely outbound orders. The role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced environment, coordinating labour, workflow and priorities while collaborating with other departments to resolve issues and optimize product movement.

The ideal candidate will coach and develop staff, manage workload, monitor shipments and maintain records.

  • Monitor product availability and shipping priorities to prevent delays.
  • Coordinate staffing and shift coverage based on workload and needs.
  • Provide coaching, training, feedback and corrective action as required.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve shortages, damages, and discrepancies.
  • Investigate issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance shipping efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation.

Salary Range: CA$20.00 To CA$23.00 Hourly

Reports to: Shipping Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Schedule: This position is expected to primarily support the afternoon shift and requires flexibility to work up to six days per week, including weekends and holidays, based on business and production needs.

Position Overview

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the shipping team and ensuring outbound orders are completed safely, accurately and on time.

This role provides hands-on leadership within a fast-paced shipping environment, coordinating labour, workflow and order priorities while working closely with other departments to resolve issues and maintain efficient product movement. The successful candidate will be a confident people leader who can balance operational demands, employee development and customer requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach and develop shipping employees to meet expectations related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity and employee engagement.
  • Plan and distribute daily workload to ensure outbound orders are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Verify outgoing shipments against manifests, invoices, customer orders and other shipping documentation.
  • Monitor product availability and shipping priorities to identify opportunities to release orders earlier and prevent delays.
  • Coordinate staffing and shift coverage based on workload, production requirements and operational needs.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, training, feedback and corrective action when required.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and evaluations.
  • Work closely with internal departments and external partners to resolve shortages, damages, shipping discrepancies and other non-conformances.
  • Investigate operational issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, productivity and workflow and provide recommendations to management.
  • Support the consistent application of company policies, procedures and established shipping processes.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records including weights, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies.
  • Promote strong communication and collaboration within the shipping team and across departments.
  • Provide hands-on coverage for shipping and clerical functions when required, including pick tickets, Bills of Lading, ship screen and Transportation Management System activities.
  • Lead by example and support a safe, respectful and productive work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory or people leadership experience.
  • Previous experience within the produce industry.
  • Forklift certification and/or previous forklift operating experience.
  • Experience with Famous, RedLine, a Transportation Management System, Warehouse Management System, or other inventory and shipping systems.
  • Additional language skills.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist and reach as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg / 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13°C / 55°F.
  • Ability to effectively manage challenging conversations, employee concerns and operational situations.

Compensation and Benefits:Hourly Rate: $20.00–$23.00 per hour
