JATEC in Edmonton is seeking a dependable Warehouse Worker / Shipping & Receiving Associate to support crossdock operations, receiving, organizing, preparing, and distributing materials for infrastructure projects.

You will work with warehouse personnel, drivers, and operations teams to ensure safety, accuracy, and efficiency, with opportunities to grow in a stable, full-time role within a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of warehouse, shipping & receiving, construction labour, logistics, or material handling experience
Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, yard, or construction environment
Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes and documentation
Experience using hand and power tools safely
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities

Loading, unloading, receiving, and organizing incoming and outgoing materials
Verifying shipments against packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping documentation
Inspecting materials for damage, discrepancies, and quality concerns
Preparing orders for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and staging materials
Operating forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently
Assisting with inventory counts, stock organization, and material tracking
Loading materials onto trucks and supporting delivery preparation activities
Using hand tools and power tools as required
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard environment
Following all safety policies and procedures

What You'll Do

As a Warehouse Worker / Shipping & Receiving Associate, you will play an important role in supporting warehouse, yard, and logistics operations by receiving, organizing, preparing, and distributing materials used across JATEC's infrastructure projects.

Working closely with warehouse personnel, drivers, and operations teams, you'll help ensure materials are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Responsibilities Include:

Loading, unloading, receiving, and organizing incoming and outgoing materials
Verifying shipments against packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping documentation
Inspecting materials for damage, discrepancies, and quality concerns
Preparing orders for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and staging materials
Operating forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently
Assisting with inventory counts, stock organization, and material tracking
Loading materials onto trucks and supporting delivery preparation activities
Using hand tools, circular saws, chop saws, and other equipment as required
Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse and yard environment
Ensuring materials are stored, stacked, and secured safely
Performing routine housekeeping activities and identifying workplace hazards
Following all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
Supporting warehouse, yard, and labour-related activities as required

What You Bring

We're looking for candidates with experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, material handling, logistics, inventory control, construction support, and equipment operation.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of warehouse, shipping & receiving, construction labour, logistics, or material handling experience
Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, yard, or construction environment
Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes and documentation
Experience using hand and power tools safely
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable transportation and ability to report to work consistently
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment\

Forklift certification
Experience operating circular saws, chop saws, or other cutting equipment
Skid steer operating experience
Crossdock or logistics experience

Competitive Hourly Wage

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position with an anticipated duration of approximately six months, with possibility for extension. Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and demonstrated industry expertise.
