Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping/Logistics Manager to oversee our company’s shipping, receiving, and logistics operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely transportation of goods, managing warehouse staff, optimizing logistics processes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, a skilled communicator, and has a strong understanding of supply chain management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor shipping and logistics operations to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
  • Manage inbound and outbound shipping processes, including carrier negotiations, freight scheduling, and cost control.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Track shipments and address any issues or delays that may occur during transit.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation, customs, and international trade regulations.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure warehouse organization and safety standards are met.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, customer service, and production departments to align logistics functions with business goals.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate logistics and warehouse personnel.
  • Prepare reports and analyze logistics metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
Inbound/Outbound Logistics Support
  • Coordinate and track all incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Collaborate with shipping and receiving coordinators to ensure timely deliveries
  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend operational improvements
Freight Optimization & Cost Savings
  • Analyze shipping costs and develop strategies to reduce freight spend
  • Compare and negotiate rates with freight forwarders, carriers, and brokers
  • Propose creative shipping solutions to reduce transit time and expense
Trade Compliance
  • Research and apply appropriate HS codes to products
  • Prepare documentation to challenge or appeal any unjustified duties or tariffs
  • Stay current on import/export regulations affecting the business
Vendor Coordination
  • Liaise with third-party logistics providers, customs brokers, and warehouse partners
  • Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met
  • Monitor shipping lead times and performance metrics
Reporting & Analysis
  • Maintain shipping logs and cost reports
  • Provide monthly dashboards on freight performance and savings
  • Support finance and procurement with shipping data for budgeting and forecasting

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in logistics, shipping, or warehouse management.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, HS codes, and customs documentation
  • Ability to work with logistics software (e.g., ERP).
  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
