BWXT Canada Ltd. is seeking an experienced Shipping & Logistics Export Control Manager for our Cambridge, ON team. This role manages transportation, logistics, trade compliance, and leads a team to support large-scale nuclear projects across North America and internationally. Reporting to the VP of Strategy and Business Services, you will oversee transportation activities, manage shipments of large components, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Logistics & Transportation Management: Lead planning and execution of transportation strategies for nuclear components via land, rail, and sea. Manage relationships with suppliers and carriers to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries that meet project and customer needs. Oversee domestic and international shipping operations, including emergency and outage support.
  2. Trade Compliance & Export Control: Ensure compliance with Canadian and international export/import laws, especially nuclear non-proliferation regulations. Coordinate with legal and engineering teams to secure licenses. Interface with regulatory bodies such as CNSC, DFAIT, and CBSA.
  3. Leadership & Team Management: Lead and develop a team, including Customs & Compliance and Transportation Coordinators. Promote safety and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with dangerous goods regulations. Provide regulatory and logistics training.
  4. Financial & Operational Oversight: Manage logistics budgets, negotiate contracts, and develop contingency plans for complex logistics. Audit customs invoices and entries to maximize cost efficiencies.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 10+ years in transportation, logistics, and trade compliance, with large-scale project logistics experience.
  • Degree or diploma in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Experience managing oversized, high-value component transportation.
  • Deep knowledge of trade compliance, free trade agreements, and duty/tax strategies.
  • Familiarity with nuclear industry regulations, licensing, and dangerous goods shipping.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Safety certifications and knowledge of occupational health laws are assets.

Base salary in Ontario is expected to range from $89,000 to $139,000 annually, with additional compensation elements based on experience and performance. Details will be provided upon offer.
