Job summary

Give & Go Prepared Foods Corp. in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely move and stage product in a fast-paced warehouse environment, including freezer areas, while supporting production lines.

This night-shift role requires high school completion, at least 3 years of forklift experience, and certification; you will lead stock rotation, log activities, and help maintain a clean, safe workplace.

Qualifications

  • Completion of high school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with a Forklift operator.
  • Forklift Operator Certification.
  • Effective stress management skills.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of health & safety requirements.
  • Deadline oriented with an urgency mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehouse duties: picking, case handling, loading, unloading of trailers, and providing materials to production.
  • Move product from storage to trucks, ensuring accuracy and no damage.
  • Supply packaging lines with correct product, ensuring exact quantity and type.
  • Unload inbound shipments and store properly; stack securely.
  • Tag, log, scan, and place finished products in freezer.
  • Provide pallets, masters, racks, and re-palletize materials for production.
  • Inspect pallets for damage or debris.
  • Maintain stock rotation and participate in inventories.
  • Record activities to ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Supervise Walkie Drivers: organize, set priorities, schedule, review performance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and perform maintenance as needed.
  • Follow health and safety programs and wear required PPE.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and food safety/quality issues.

Job Overview

Responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count product while being accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle. This position is tasked with providing packaging lines with the correct product and ensuring that finished products are organized accordingly.

Shift: Night (11PM to 7AM)

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all warehouse duties such as picking, case handling, loading, and unloading of trailers, providing production with necessary materials, inventory management etc.
  • Efficiently move product from storage areas onto trucks, ensuring that shipments are accurate and free of damage
  • Pull and provide packaging lines with the correct product, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is supplied to the lines
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations; efficiently stack and store the product in the appropriate areas
  • Tag, log, scan, and put finished products in freezer
  • Supply production with pallets, masters, racks, and re-palletize materials for production
  • Inspect pallets being supplied to production for any damage or foreign debris
  • Ensure proper stock rotation to minimize waste and participate in physical inventories
  • Maintain appropriate records to ensure proper stock rotation
  • Provide supervision to the Walkie Drivers, including but not limiting to organizing, setting priorities, scheduling, and reviewing performance
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area, perform or assist in building, grounds and equipment maintenance as required
  • Follow company’s health and safety program, rules and procedures and work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and codes
  • Use or wear safety equipment and personal protective equipment required by the company
  • Report to supervisor any hazardous or unsafe conditions, absence or defects in equipment and any contravention of health and safety legislation
  • Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses to your supervisor
  • Responsible to report food safety and food quality issues
  • Ensures that policies and procedures related to food safety and food quality are followed at all times
  • All other duties as assigned or required
Working Conditions
  • Working in freezer (cold temperatures)
  • Exposure to heavy machinery
  • Exposure to loud noises
  • Exposure to forklift and other machine traffic
  • Requires working in areas with temperature and humidity variations based on local weather conditions, and on selecting environment (Dry, Cooler, Freezer)
  • Requirement to lift up to 50lbs and work in a repetitive motion
