Job summary

Protenergy Natural Foods Corp., a facility operated under TreeHouse Foods, is seeking a Shipper & Receiver (Forklift Operator) at our Richmond Hill site. The shift is 12 hours continental, with day and night options, and involves forklift movement, inventory control, and orderly staging of materials.

Reporting to Production; candidates need a High School diploma, forklift certificate, and 3–5 years manufacturing experience. OSHA/MSDS compliance and English fluency are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Forklift training certificate required.
  • 3-5 years manufacturing related experience expected.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count materials.
  • Maintain accountability for safe and efficient forklift operation.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
  • Ensure inbound/outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report variances.
  • Keep records to ensure tight inventory control and security.
  • Assist in physical inventories and proper stock rotation.

Protenergy Natural Foods Corp. is a rapidly growing and profitable mid-size company specializing in the manufacturing of aseptically packaged natural food and beverage products. Founded in 2004 by industry veterans who recognized an opportunity to bring innovative technologies to the food production industry, the company has a strong track record of growth. Our parent company, Treehouse Foods of Oak Brook, Illinois, is a food manufacturer servicing primarily the retail grocery and food service distribution channels, and is one of the largest private label food manufacturers in the United States.

Our Environment:

Protenergy Natural Foods maintains a 24 hour 7 days per week continental shift rotational environment. Shifts are 12 hours, from 7am to 7:30pm (days) or 7:00pm to 7:30am (nights). We maintain a 2-3 rotation, where in fourteen calendar days you will work a total of seven where every other weekend is a long weekend

Position Summary:

Protenergy Natural Foods Corp, a fully integrated manufacturer of natural food and beverage products has an immediate opening for a Shipper & Receiver position at its Richmond Hill facility. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, this position requires the incumbent to work 12 hours’ continental shifts with the flexibility to work on either day and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
  • Operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count materials
  • Maintain accountability for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift
  • Inspect forklifts on a daily basis and report changes or concerns to the Production Team Leader
  • Unloading inbound shipments safely and moving product to storage locations
  • Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas
  • Ensuring inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; reporting quality variances where applicable
  • Keeping appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
  • Assisting in physical inventories
  • Ensuring proper stock rotation
  • Create Bill of Lading as required
  • Inspect trailers, raw materials and finished goods for defective products and/or ingredients
  • Collaborate with external warehouses to organize product returns and inbound transfers
  • Participate in shift changeover meetings as required
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, neat and orderly work area
  • Ensure that operations are conducted in a manner that promotes safety
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
  • Completion of a forklift training certificate
  • 3-5 years manufacturing related experience
  • Completion of WHMIS, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods is an asset
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet rotation deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices
  • Fluency in English both oral and writte
