Job summary

Fort Garry Industries’ Dartmouth branch has an exciting opportunity for a Shipper/Receiver to join our warehouse team. You will receive and process stock, pack and ship orders, verify accuracy, and help maintain inventory with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Requirements include 1 year of warehouse/shipping experience with an RF Scanner or barcode gun, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and a willingness to work Saturdays on a rotating schedule. forklift experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must have 1 year of general warehouse experience, shipping and receiving, or order picker experience using an RF Scanner or barcode gun, with a high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Physical ability: lift 75-100 lbs, stand and walk frequently, read small print and numbers.
  • Forklift experience and RF scanner familiarity preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean abstract preferred but not required.
  • Saturday work on a rotational schedule with overtime as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard office equipment.
  • Excellent customer service and strong written and verbal communication.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, with safety excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming stock, verify quantities against documents.
  • Prepare shipping documents for outbound products.
  • Package, label, and ship customer orders with accuracy.
  • Inspect stock for wear/defects and report issues.
  • Replenish inventory in designated bins.
  • Cross-train to delivery driver role for occasional support.
  • Assist with securing cargo and occasional parts delivery in FGI vehicle.

Our DARTMOUTH BRANCH has an exciting opportunity for a SHIPPER RECEIVER to join our team

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, packing and shipping orders, managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. You will work with your branch team members to deliver a high-quality customer experience that exceeds customer expectations through the following tasks:

  • Accurately receive incoming product and match the quantity of items received to the shipping documents
  • Prepare shipping documents for outbound products
  • Package, label, and ship customer orders, verifying order accuracy before shipping
  • Inspect stock items for wear or defects and report any damaged or missing stock to management.
  • Replenish inventory items in designated warehouse storage bins
  • Cross-train to delivery driver role to provide occasional support
  • May receive, sort, and organize worn brake shoe cores for shipping to our remanufacturing facility
  • May secure cargo to a vehicle
  • May occasionally deliver parts with an FGI vehicle
  • Other duties as assigned
What You Will Do
  • Shipper/Receiver responsibilities as described above
What We Require
  • Must have 1 year of general warehouse experience, shipping and receiving, or order picker experience using an RF Scanner or barcode gun, combined with a high school diploma or other equivalency certificate
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements: Lift up to 75-100lbs, frequent standing and walking, reading small print and numbers
  • Experience operating a forklift, using an RF scanner, and familiarity with aftermarket parts or heavy-duty parts is preferred but not required
  • A valid driver’s license and a recent driver’s abstract demonstrating no major infractions is preferred but not required
  • Must be available to work Saturdays on a rotational schedule and overtime to meet business demands
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard office equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, with a commitment to safety excellence
