Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) is seeking a Shift Supervisor to support CAF members and their families with retail services. You will supervise staff, handle refunds and returns, and manage POS operations, including cash handling and store opening/closing procedures.

This on-site role requires customer-focused leadership, familiarity with merchandising, and the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment serving a military community.

Qualifications

  • Combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Food Handling Certification may be required.
  • Experience in cash handling, personnel administration, merchandising, and food/beverage service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide retail services to CAF members and assist them, aiming for customer satisfaction.
  • Handle refunds, voids and returns and manage cash and POS operations.

THE ROLE

As a Shift Supervisor, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You deal with customer concerns or complaints to ensure customer satisfaction and authorize refunds, voids, and returns. You hold keys, safe combinations, and access codes, and open and close the store as required. You supervise employees.

The Shift Supervisor may also provide a variety of other retail services, including: regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, self‑serve gas services, and postal services. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine, and maintain a float. You may take and prepare food and beverage orders and prepare takeout food, while ensuring cleanliness of food service and eating areas.

Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses
  • An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
  • Food Handling Certification, as required
Experience
  • In cash handling
  • In personnel administration
  • In visual merchandising
  • In food and beverage preparation and service, as required

Language Requirements
  • Bilingual (English and French) an asset
