The Role

Under the general direction of the Operations Coordinator I, the Shift Supervisor monitors specific Shelter program systems to ensure security, safety, and efficiency of client services and activities. Responsibilities include supporting scheduled client services, ensuring appointments are kept, and coordinating program activities.

**Candidates must have FDNY F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems.**

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

• Supervise and monitor the environment to ensure guidelines are followed and relationships remain positive.
• Manage daily program schedule and ensure participation.
• Oversee facility cleanliness, security, and safety practices.
• Conduct mandated fire drills and evacuations.
• Administer breathalyzer tests or observe urine specimen collection as per policy.
• Perform safety checks and assess clients for unsafe conditions or substance use.
• Review scheduled client appointments and dispatch trips promptly.
• Dispatch vehicles, ensuring paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Distribute carfare for external appointments.
• Select appropriate appointment escorts.
• Comply with confidentiality and privacy regulations (42 CFR, HIPAA).
• Monitor kitchen and food preparations in the absence of Food Service staff to ensure compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Must possess FDNY F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Fire Safety and Alarm Systems.
• Willing to obtain CPR Certification.
• Willing to obtain NYC Food Handler’s Certificate as needed.
• Available to work flexible hours based on participant and staff needs.
