Job summary

Dryden Fibre Canada is seeking a permanent, full-time Mechanical Technician (Millwright – shift) to join our multi-skilled maintenance teams in Dryden, Ontario. The role requires a Red Seal Millwright certificate and the ability to work rotating shifts, with a compensation around CAD 51.65 per hour.

You will perform mechanical repairs, participate in preventative maintenance programs, document records, and read machine drawings using precision tools, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial Mechanical Millwright Certificate.
• Ability to work shift including days, nights, weekends.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid computer skills and experience with electronic work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs to machinery and plant support systems, including rotating and stationary equipment.
• Work with preventive maintenance programs and document accurate maintenance records.
• Use a wide array of precision tools, including computerized alignment equipment.
• Read and interpret machine drawings.

Dryden Fibre Canada is currently seeking an individual to become a permanent, full-time employee as part of our multi-skilled maintenance teams while contributing to our ongoing success. The City of Dryden is located on the North shoreline of the Wabigoon Chain of Lakes along the Trans-Canada Highway. It is located midway between Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is surrounded by wilderness, lakes, and landscapes.

As an ideal candidate you have:

• A valid Interprovincial “Red Seal” Industrial Mechanical Millwright Certificate.
• A positive work attitude and a keen sense of responsibility, particularly with respect to safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• The ability to work shift work including days, nights, and weekends.
• Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
• Solid computer skills and experience with electronic work orders.
• Experience in the Pulp and Paper industry will be considered an asset.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your responsibilities include:
