Voltava in Windsor, Ontario seeks a Shift Manager to lead daily production in a high-volume automotive assembly setting. You will drive safety, quality, delivery, and productivity while coaching teams and resolving operational issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership experience in a Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing environment.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing, assembly, sequencing, or a similar high-volume production environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement principles.
• Working knowledge of Process Control Plans (PCPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), rework processes, and PFMEA.
• Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve operational issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage employees and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
• Lead, coach, and develop team members to build capability, accountability, and engagement.
• Monitor production schedules and effectively allocate people and resources to meet customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving broadcast and sequencing systems, including line escalations and production disruptions.
• Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Materials, and Logistics to resolve issues and improve operational performance.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Support the implementation of engineering and process changes, ensuring effective communication and execution on the production floor.
• Maintain accurate workstation documentation, including Standardized Work Sheets (SWS), Process Verification Sheets (PVS), error-proofing documentation, and Autonomous Maintenance standards.
• Maintain and utilize the Versatility Matrix to identify skill gaps and support team member development.
• Conduct Training Within Industry (TWI) activities to establish standardized work and improve training effectiveness.
• Implement and sustain 5S practices and ensure compliance with plant standards.
• Conduct routine process verifications, workstation audits, and follow-up activities to maintain quality, safety, and process compliance.
• Support PFMEA activities by identifying process risks and implementing appropriate controls and corrective actions.
• Assist with the creation, tracking, validation, and closure of open issues through structured follow-up and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, environmental standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, accountability, and respect.

About The Role

The Shift Manager leads production and operational activities within a high-volume automotive assembly environment. This role is responsible for achieving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives while developing team members, resolving operational issues, and driving continuous improvement.

Salary Range

$60,000–$100,00 annually

What You Will Do
