Job summary

Allied Universal in Brampton, ON is hiring a Security Professional for a full-time role at a homeless shelter. The position requires monitoring access, de‑escalation skills, and prompt emergency response to protect residents, staff, and visitors.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in shelter or high-risk environments, a valid Ontario Security License, and is at least 18 years old. First Aid/CPR certification is preferred. This is a full-time, day-shift role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience working in a shelter, supportive housing, high risk environment or with vulnerable persons.
• Must have a valid Ontario Security License.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours a week.
• First Aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facility access and log entries to ensure only authorized individuals are allowed entry.
• Conflict resolution to de-escalate disputes between residents, guests or staff.
• Respond to emergencies (medical, fire, security) and assist with evacuations.
• Conduct regular patrols to maintain safety and deter incidents.
• Document incidents and communicate with supervisors promptly.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter negative behavior.
• Collaborate with shelter staff to implement security protocols.
