Job summary

McMaster University in Hamilton, ON is seeking a skilled sheet metal worker to join our on-site fabrication team. You will read blueprints, cut and shape sheet metal, operate metalworking machines and install products according to codes.

The role is permanent, full-time, with a fixed on-site location and no remote option. A valid driver's license is required and the job demands physical work including standing and lifting heavy loads. Benefits include life insurance and RRSP.

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
• Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
• Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
• Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
• Cut materials using power tools or by hand
• Estimate costs and materials
• Fit and join sheet metal parts
• Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
