Specialty Air Sheet Metal manufactures and installs HVAC systems for commercial and industrial facilities, using prefabrication and LEAN management to optimize fabrication performance. The company operates from a 17,000-square-foot shop with ergonomically designed workstations and advanced machinery capable of flat stamped, laser-cut, and plasma-cut steel in a wide range of sizes. Specialty Air provides design-build services for new construction and retrofits, focusing on long‑term, efficient solutions that reduce energy, operating and maintenance costs. The team leverages VDC tools such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and state‑of‑the‑art CAM software to improve accuracy, quality and efficient on‑site installation. Technology is integrated throughout the process to support clients and end users with precise, reliable HVAC systems.

Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Sheet Metal Worker role located in Edmonton, AB. The Sheet Metal Worker will fabricate, assemble and install HVAC ductwork and related sheet metal components according to drawings, specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities include measuring and cutting sheet metal, operating fabrication equipment, using hand and power tools and performing layout work to support shop and field installation activities. The role involves working closely with project teams to meet production schedules, maintain quality standards and follow LEAN and safety procedures. The Sheet Metal Worker will also assist with material handling, equipment maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives in the shop and on job sites.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Sheet Metal and Metalworking skills for fabrication, fitting and installation of HVAC components.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency with Hand Tools for measuring, cutting, fastening and finishing metal parts.
  • Candidates should possess Welding skills for joining and repairing metal assemblies where required.
  • Candidates with Aircraft‑related sheet metal experience will be able to apply precision fabrication and installation practices to HVAC projects.
  • Experience in HVAC or mechanical construction environments, with familiarity reading blueprints or BIM‑generated drawings.
  • Ability to lift and move materials safely, stand for extended periods and work in varying site conditions while following safety protocols.
  • Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship in Sheet Metal or Metal Fabrication is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability and ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented, production‑focused environment.
