Job Purpose

The Structure or Sheet Metal Technician works within a maintenance team to repair and implement structural and body enhancements on aircraft. Responsibilities include conducting structural repairs, modifications, and fabricating sheet metals to replace worn aircraft body parts and flight control surfaces.

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures such as wings and fuselage using hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Conduct structural repairs and modifications, applying technical expertise to solve problems.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical data to determine repair methods.
  • Perform damage assessments for engineering purposes.
  • Coordinate with team leaders to ensure work is completed on schedule and according to quality standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Order parts and supplies as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of airframe components during repairs.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Valid Transport Canada S license (asset).
  • Minimum five years of experience as a sheet metal worker, preferably related to aircraft.
  • Valid AVOP (D/A or D) and radio license.
  • M license (asset).
  • Experience with welding and brazing equipment (asset).
  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt quickly, and work flexible shifts.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Education
  • Completed Structure or Sheet Metal program or equivalent.
