Training Program Overview

Our intensive 3-week training program is designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in Aerospace Sheet Metal Manufacturing. Participants will receive hands-on training, learn from industry experts, and gain practical experience in a simulated manufacturing environment.

Upon successful completion of the program

Graduates of the 3-week academy will have the necessary knowledge and skills to begin their progression as a Sheetmetal Mechanic.

Key Benefits Of The Program

Paid Training:

Receive a competitive rate during your training program. The academy training program will begin on July 21, 2025, and runs Monday to Thursday, 4:30pm – 3:00am. Once you have successfully completed the training, you will be moved to a position within the Sheet Metal department.

Comprehensive Curriculum:

Dive into a well-rounded curriculum covering manufacturing techniques, sheet metal processes, and industry-specific technologies.

Hands-on Experience:

Gain practical skills through immersive, hands-on activities in a state-of-the-art training facility.

Expert Instruction:

Specialized training from subject matter experts in forming, heat treating, deburring, welding, hand-work, rolling, CNC brake forming and CNC routing.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interpretation of Blueprints: Study and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand assembly requirements.
  • Sheet Metal Fabrication: Utilize various hand tools, power tools, and machinery to cut, shape, and form sheet metal components according to specifications.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of assembled components to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to aerospace industry standards.
  • Precision Measurement: Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Material Handling: Safely handle and store sheet metal materials, ensuring proper organization and inventory control.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the manufacturing team, including engineers and machinists, to achieve seamless integration of sheet metal components into larger assemblies.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.


Education And Professional Qualifications

  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Any technical or trades qualifications/certificates, or training would be considered an asset
  • Ability to complete a criminal background check


Skills & Experience

  • Manufacturing, aerospace, warehousing or construction experience is considered an asset but not required
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication machinery
  • Ability to interpret and understand drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following all safety guidelines
  • Must have and maintain the ability to legally work in Canada.
  • Must have a strong desire to learn and grow professionally
