We are looking for an experienced SharePoint Migration Analyst with strong Business Analysis (BA) and Quality Assurance (QA) skills to support the quality assurance and business analysis activities for a SharePoint migration project. You will lead test planning and validation activities while partnering with business stakeholders to define requirements and ensure a smooth migration from on-prem/DFS environments to Microsoft 365.
Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Quality Assurance
- Lead end-to-end QA strategy and execution.
- Develop and maintain test plans, strategies, and test cases specific to SharePoint online migrations and metadata, permissions, and information architecture validation.
- Coordinate and execute migration validation, user acceptance training(UAT), regression and integration testing.
- Identify, log and track defects through resolution tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate closely with migration SME’s, developers, and platform teams to resolve quality issues.
- Lead and support User Acceptance Testing(UAT), including defect triage and sign-off coordination
- Provide clear QA status updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to project team.
Business Analysis
- Support migration related activities including facilitating requirements gathering sessions for business needs.
- Document and maintain business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and high-level process flows.
- Act as a liaison between business users, product owners and development team to clarify requirements and manage expectations.
- Identify gaps, risks and dependencies early and collaborate with project team for practical solutions.
What you’ll bring to us:
- 3+ years of combined BA & QA experience.
- Experience with 1+ large SharePoint migrations (100+ sites).
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online, M365, site architecture, permissions, metadata, and modern design.
- Hands on experience using Azure DevOps, migration tools (e.g.,ShareGate), and validation frameworks.
- Understanding of Records Management, retention labels, and Microsoft Purview.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and end-user change and adoption.
- Exposure to automation testing or scripting for validation tasks considered an asset.
- Experience validating compliance and governance features(e.g., sensitivity labels) considered an asset.
- ISTQB or similar QA certifications considered an asset.
- Experience in enterprise digital workplace or collaboration environments, considered an asset.
