Job summary

JDS Group of Companies seeks a Project Manager for Shaft Sinking to oversee the safe and efficient sinking, furnishing, and transition to permanent operations of twin shafts at the NexGen Energy Rook I Project in Northwest Saskatchewan. You will manage sinking contracts, vendor interfaces, and reporting, leveraging large-scale construction experience.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with large-scale construction execution including project initiation, early engineering and execution planning.
• Experience in team development and contractor management.
• Strong risk management capabilities and regulatory compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to support the safe execution of the entire shaft sinking scope.
• Establish interfaces between Owner and Contractor teams including communication strategies.
• Ensure safe on budget, on schedule project execution aligned with applicable standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Clarify ownership of project scope, schedule, budget, outcomes and mitigations.
• Maintain change management and contract management processes and timely change orders.
• Leverage project control systems to measure performance and identify deviations with mitigations.
• Establish internal communications to keep the Project Team and leadership informed.
• Ensure Contractor QA/QC and inspection/test plans are complete for execution.
• Coordinate information requests and nonconformance reports for the shaft area.
• Work with the Contractor on engineering and procurement aligned with the execution plan.
• Complete risk work, SOPs, and planning for site mobilization and execution.
• Ensure progressive turnover of completed packages from the Contractor.
• Develop Owners team and IPT members and ensure continuity of the project team.
