Job summary

JDS Group of Companies is seeking a Lead Shaft Sinking Package Engineer to provide technical leadership for the shaft sinking package on a mining project. You will coordinate mining, geotechnical, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, hoisting, construction, procurement and project management teams to ensure safe, efficient execution.

You will lead design through construction, review methods and equipment, and ensure integration with overall project strategy and schedules.

Qualifications

Extensive experience leading shaft sinking engineering in mining projects.
Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors and vendors.
Strong knowledge of temporary works, ground support and underground construction.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering and technical development of shaft sinking package from design through construction and commissioning.
Coordinate design criteria, scopes of work and engineering deliverables for shaft sinking.
Provide technical direction to engineers, designers, consultants, and contractors.
Manage interfaces between shaft sinking and underground development, surface infrastructure and hoisting.
Review methods, sequencing, equipment and constructability for safe, efficient execution.
Support site inspections, progress reviews, RFIs, and design deviations.
