Job summary

The City of Regina is seeking a skilled Water & Sewer Operations worker to perform maintenance, repairs, and construction on our water distribution and sewer systems in Regina, Saskatchewan. The role requires at least two years of relevant field experience and certification, with a clear path to Level 2 operator status within a year.

You will operate trucks and equipment, supervise helpers, and ensure safe, compliant work practices in various conditions.

Qualifications

• Typically, two or more years of experience as a semi-skilled labourer or acting skilled labourer in Water Distribution and Sewer Collection Operations.
• Must have Level 1 Operator Certification and obtain Level 2 within 1 year.
• Knowledge of water and sewer construction methods, procedures, and safety.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds daily and work in field environments.
• Basic computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.

Responsibilities

• Maintain water distribution and sewer systems.
• Dig trenches by hand or with power tools.
• Direct equipment operators using hand signals.
• Supervise helpers and train staff.
• Operate relevant water/sewer equipment and vehicles.
• Complete reporting and documentation as required.
