Job summary

Crédit Agricole CIB in Montreal is seeking a back-office specialist to support day-to-day trading activities for CA Securities, CACIB NY branch and affiliates. You will handle settlement activities for US TSY transactions and tri-party processing and funding, ensuring accuracy across DTCC and related systems.

The role requires close coordination with Finance, Middle Office and Front Office on production issues, projects and implementations, keeping books and records balanced daily.

Responsibilities

  • Thorough knowledge of DTCC functionalities, as we are a self-clearing broker dealer and direct DTCC members.
  • Funding of the broker‑dealer account - review of incoming and outgoing payments, DTCC & FED settlements to determine.
  • BNY FED wire & triparty- required knowledge of BNY BDC functionality for FED settlements & collateral movements.
  • Need to be knowledgeable of BNY Accessedge for triparty movements, force maturities, allocations of triparty shells.
  • Must be familiar with products within our scope, US corporate bonds, US equities, US FED eligible TSY & MBS, commercial paper, MMI instruments.
  • Processing of wire payments for collateral requirements, reprices, pair-offs, claims & coupon interest.
  • Department balancing between clearinghouses (DTCC, BNY) and internal systems (FIS Phase3) ensures that books and records balance daily.
  • Ability to communicate & articulate with other support teams (Finance, middle office, collateral management) along with front office trading and sales on production issues, along with projects and implementations.

Responsible for the day-to-day back-office support of trading activities executed by CA Securities, CACIB NY branch, our affiliates and clients. Settlement activities of all US TSY transactions. Tri-party processing & funding, and DTCC activities for the self-clearing broker dealer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Thorough knowledge of DTCC functionalities, as we are a self-clearing broker dealer and direct DTCC members. Occasional manual deliveries and pledges, investigation, collateral movement to satisfy intraday deficits.
  • Funding of the broker‑dealer account‑ review of incoming and outgoing payments, DTCC & FED settlements to determine. Daily funding requirement with Treasury department.
  • BNY FED wire & triparty- required knowledge of BNY BDC functionality for FED settlements & collateral movements.
  • Need to be knowledgeable of BNY Accessedge for triparty movements, force maturities, allocations of triparty shells.
  • Must be familiar with products within our scope, US corporate bonds, US equities, US FED eligible TSY & MBS, commercial paper, MMI instruments. (securities lending/borrowing activities, repo, outright cash trade)
  • Processing of wire payments for collateral requirements, reprices, pair-offs, claims & coupon interest.
  • Department balancing between clearinghouses (DTCC, BNY) and internal systems (FIS Phase3) ensures that books and records balance daily.
  • Ability to communicate & articulate with other support teams (Finance, middle office, collateral management) along with front office trading and sales on production issues, along with projects and implementations.
Systems

Knowledge of all BNY BDC & Accessedge functionalities – trade matching, allocation of triparty shells, including the transmission modes, position screens, pending trades, ack/nack, rdars, cash screens.

Interaction

High volume processing and knowledge of fed wire deadlines; constant interaction with middle office, trading, sales and treasury repo desk.

Reconciliation

Intraday and end of day balancing of activity cleared at BNY that was processed on FIS (Phase3) system to ensure balancing of positions and cash. Process journal entries and cash movements on FIS (Phase3).

Complément

FICC:Knowledge of FICC processing, including trades netted and balance order fails with the clearinghouse.

Cash Management

Daily funding of our depository accounts - DTCC, bank of New York, Euroclear. Communication with NY Treasury teams on funding needs. Communication with Paris Treasury on funding of Paris activities that clear through CAS & CACIB NY Branch.

Secondary Duties

Assist the area when called upon for the other aspects of the department and operation

Management and Reporting

Reporting to management of positions in inventory and operational suspense account.
