Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Set Up Technician in Mississauga, Ontario. You will combine a setup role with packaging operations, dismantling and reassembling large machines using hand and power tools, and ensuring GMP-compliant production in a fast-paced environment.

You will follow SOPs, perform quick troubleshooting, manage labeling and documentation, and handle lifting requirements. Training on GMP practices and potential for ongoing career growth are provided as part of a 6-month onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and dismantling packaging machinery in a GMP environment.
• Ability to use hand and power tools for machine changes and adjustments.
• Comfort with basic computer tasks and documentation.
• Background in production line operations and packaging processes.

Job Title: Set Up Technician

Job Description

As a Set Up Technician, you will play a dual role as both a set up technician and a packaging operator. You will be responsible for setting up machines by dismantling and assembling large packaging machines using various tools. Your role will involve troubleshooting issues, working on packaging machines in a GMP environment, following SOP standards, and packaging pharmaceutical medications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and dismantle large packaging machines using tools such as allen keys, wrenches, and power drills.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with packaging machines.

• Operate packaging machines in compliance with GMP standards.

• Follow SOP standards for machine operation and packaging processes.

• Package pharmaceutical medications efficiently.

• Label, scan, load, and unload materials.

• Complete documentation tasks using a laptop.

• Perform lifting tasks of up to 50lbs.

Essential Skills

• Experience in machine setup, change overs, and troubleshooting in a GMP environment.

• Proficiency with hand and power tools, including wrenches and drills.

• Computer literacy.

• Experience in production line operations and packaging.

Work Environment

The work environment is highly regulated, adhering to SOP and GMP standards. The facility is clean, temperature-controlled, and requires full PPE. The day shift runs from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm with 12-hour continental shifts. New hires undergo training with a technician for 3-4 months, learning one line before progressing. Growth opportunities include advancement to set up technician and packaging mechanic. Uniforms are provided, and employees are expected to dress in provided PPE, including steel toe shoes and PAPR suits for more experienced roles

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mississauga, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
